Osun Polls: INEC Set To Declare Aregbesola As Winner

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC will announce Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the winner of the  August 9 gubernatorial election in Osun state.

Sources within the city disclosed that with Governor Aregbesola leading the pack, INEC will pronounce the actual winner of the election any moment from now.

Having chalked up victory in 24 of the 30 local government areas in the state, the All Progressives Congress, APC is a sure bet to emerge victorious in the election.

Many APC members were seen on the streets of Osogbo, Ede and Ikirun in a jubilant mood after hearing about their party’s success in their respective regions.

With their brooms waving into the air inside their cars, the party members flooded the streets as they kept chanting, “Aregbe ni ooo”, “Ogbeni leekan si”, among other chants.

In fact, the supporters were in a jubilant mood right in front of a PDP party secretariat in the city without minding its negative implications.

Even old women and aged men were all shouting, “change”, “change”, while they continued to state their joy at the impending announcement of Aregbesola as winner.

Details of result list shortly....
