Tecno Mobile unveils Phantom Z in Nigeria

Tecno Mobile has made a bold step of market dominance in Smartphone Technology in Africa with the unveiling of Tecno Phantom Z. While delivering his welcome address at the event which was held today at Sheraton Hotel Lagos, Tecno Mobile Deputy General Manager Mr. Chidi Okonkwo said that the launch of revolutionary Techno Phantom Z smartphone is the proof that Nigeria is willing to explore high-end product service.

He disclosed that Tecno Mobile came into Nigeria market in 2008 with a goal to make Smartphone more accessible within the Nigerian society. His word: “globally, Smartphone penetration stood at 57.6% as at 2013 and this figured also captured the fast adoption of Smartphone in Africa. We hope to improve on Africa’s contribution by delivering the best vendor services.”

He noted that Tecno Mobile product right now meets the local demands in Nigeria and other Africa countries because this is the region they solely serve.

“We are committed to doing business in Nigeria and to buttress our commitment to the Nigeria market, plans are on the way to establish a Techno manufacturer plant here in Lagos, Nigeria,” Okonkwo said.

According to the Managing Director of Jumia Nigeria, an online retailer, Tecno Mobile has shown they can bring Smartphone to all Nigerians. He said that Nigerian don’t have to pay too much before they can get phones.

Also speaking at the unveiling ceremony, chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Dr. Eugene Ikemefuna Juwah who was represented by Mr. Efosa Ideye said that they are happy that Tecno Mobile is doing something like and also enjoined other phone manufacturers to borrow a leaf from Techno Mobile.

“With the coming of broadband we hope there will be more Smartphone for Nigerians,” said Ideye.

Tecno Phantom Z is equipped with a 5.2 big screen and is able to handle any HD game you throw at it no matter the heavy graphics. The internal memory of 32GB is expandable via a MicroSD card slot of up to 64GB capacity and also allows users to take photograph while still continue to record video.
