The U.S. Supreme Court legalized gay marriage Friday morning in a 5-4 decision, and within hours couples across the country were being issued marriage licenses.

Evans, 85, and Harris, 82, received their license Friday morning and were married later that day.

NBC 5 reports that the men were married by Judge Dennise Garcia, who was on her vacation and used her free day to stay at the courthouse to marry any person who came in for a license.
