$1bn Allegation: Emir Sanusi has 'Gone Completely Mad' – Olu-Kayode

Olufemi Olu-Kayode, a former minister of aviation has blasted the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi for alleging that $1 billion was stolen monthly under the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan.

Sanusi, in an interview with US TV news, alleged that the worse form of corruption in the world took place under the administration of Jonathan.

''In Nigeria, there is no accountability at all and that is why I think Nigerian corruption is worse than in many parts of the world because it is the worst type of corruption. It's stealing'', he said, adding ''Frankly, I think a billion dollars under Jonathan a month was about what we were losing.''

In a swift reaction on his Facebook account, Olu-Kayode strongly rejected the claim, saying, the Emir of Kano had gone ''completely mad''.

''When I was told that the Emir said this to the American media I was left with the conclusion that he has completely lost touch with reality and possibly lost his mind,'' Olu-Kayode said. ''He should provide the evidence to prove his allegation that one billion dollars was stolen every month by Jonathan or he should just shut up and hold his peace. If it is not President Buhari travelling to foreign lands to criminalize and defame the Nigerian people with his malicious words and absurd generalizations it is people like Emir Sanusi Lamido. This rubbish has to stop.''
