At least 500 people were killed on Saturday during a violent clash between the Nigerian Army and Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, popularly known as Shiite in Zaria, Kaduna State, Channels TV reported, citing the President of the Media Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim Musa who told the Station that the soldiers also destroyed the house of their leader, Sheik Ibraheem Zakzaky, located in Gyellesu area in Zaria.
According to the Channels TV, the group blamed the Army authorities for the loss of lives in Zaria, Kaduna State, north-west Nigeria and called on the international community and human rights groups to probe the killings.
