Since the petition which went on Parliament's e-petition website on Tuesday in response to Trump's call for a temporary halt on Muslims entering the United States, has more than 100,000 signatures, will automatically be considered for debate in Parliament.
Chancellor George Osborne criticized the 69-year-old Republican presidential hopeful's comments but rejected calls for him to be banned from the UK.
A counter-petition, set up on Wednesday, saying Mr Trump should not be banned as it would be "totally illogical" has attracted more than 9,000 signatures.
