Oby Ezekwesili, a former minister of education on Friday said the attempts by the Nigerian legislators to enact a 'Social Media Act' which will limit freedom of expression in the country is a huge waste of time.
''I laughed in Wazobia as I read that Senate is enacting a Social Media Act,'' she said on Twitter. ''Let all those who know it is "IMPOSSICANT" join me to LoL, biko! WE elected you to NASS to be a CHECK against POOR GOVERNANCE. You STEADFASTLY FAIL. Social Media EMPOWERS your Citizens then you STRIKE OUT? Thank God that Twitter & other SM platforms cannot be "Summoned" before your N130Billion Naira budget gulping 65 Committees. #ThankGod!''
