NUPENG begins 3-day strike

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) on Wednesday (January 11) commenced a three-day warning strike over failure of the International Oil Companies, IOCs to address the welfare of their workers as well as continuous job losses in the oil and gas sector.

The Federal Government is billed to have a meeting with the leadership of the union on Wednesday and the outcome of the meeting will determine if the strike will be continued or be called off.
