Police has confirmed the Kaduna explosion, that it was not a bomb blast as earlier believed. In that regard no casualty recorded, according to SCP, Umar Shehu
The explosion occurred at about 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday around a major u-turn along Nnamdi Azikwe way, Kaduna, North-West Nigeria.
The State Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said no death was recorded.
“There was an explosion , but only two people sustained injury and are receiving treatment at the hospital,” he said.
Security agents have cordoned the area , causing serious traffic grid around the area.
Though the cause of the explosion is yet to be established, a resident of the area, Musa, told PREMIUM TIMES that it was not caused by bomb.
He said it was the hot, big tea kettle used by a tea and bread seller (mai tea) that exploded while on fire; and that pandemonium ensued as residents thought it was a bomb.
