The Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase has ordered the deployment of Highway Patrol Vehicles to replace Roadblocks. This is coming barely 48 hours president Muhammadu Buhari gave an order that all military checkpoints nationwide be dismantled.
''The President has instructed the Chief of Defence Staff to get the Chief of Army Staff and the Inspector General of Police to remove all the military men along the roads across the country,'' the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Aliyu Ismail, told State House Correspondents shortly after the outcome of the meeting with the president on June 22, 2015.
