As Garba Shehu moves to presidency, Atiku appoints new spokesperson

The former vice president restates his commitment to the Buhari government and enjoined Nigerians to also support him.

A former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has appointed a former THISDAY editor, Paul Ibe, as his new spokesperson and head of Atiku Media Office (AMO).

A statement by the AMO Thursday also quoted Atiku as soliciting support of Nigerians for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr. Ibe takes over from Garba Shehu, who was recently appointed Senior Special Assistant (Media & Publicity) to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr. Ibe, who had worked with Mr. Shehu as Deputy Director (Media & Publicity) in the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council was until his appointment the Deputy Head of the Atiku Media Office.

Also, Olusola Sanni, journalist and a former editor at Compass Newspaper was appointed Deputy Head of the Atiku Media Office.

According to the statement, the former vice president restated his commitment to the President Buhari government and enjoined Nigerians to also support him in the arduous task of turning Nigeria around to work for all.

“I wish to restate the commitment I gave even long before the election of President Buhari to back him to the hilt. I urge all Nigerians to give their unalloyed support to him, so that he can better deliver on the mandate of making Nigeria work for all Nigerians.”
