Kofi Annan: Burundi's President Pierre Nkurunziza "should step aside"

Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has told the BBC that Burundi's President Pierre Nkurunziza has lost his legitimacy and should step aside. In an interview with Focus on Africa TV, he said what was happening in Burundi "could be really tragic", and warned of people's "short memories" - an apparent reference to the country's civil war, which ended in 2005, and in which an estimated 300,000 people died.
