Former South Korean President Kim Young-sam has died due to complications from sepsis and heart failure at the Seoul National University Hospital on Sunday morning. He was 87.
Kim was taken to the hospital on Thursday due to a high fever, chief of the hospital Oh Byung-Hee said at a televised briefing of Kim's death. In recent years, Kim had been treated at the hospital for stroke, angina and pneumonia, Oh added.
He was elected to office in 1992 and put an end to more than three decades of military rule.
