MTN Crisis: Group CEO Sifiso Dabengwa to resign over $5.2billion fine by NCC

MTN Nigeria has announced on Monday the resignation of its Group CEO, Sifiso Dabengwa, and said Dabengwa is resigning over the recent $5.4billion fine by Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) for failure to disconnect customers with unregistered SIM cards.

The telecoms company said Dabengwa will be replaced by non-executive chairman Phuthuma Nhleko. MTN is still in dialogue with the Nigerian government over the fine.
