Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) Alexander Bortnikov said Tuesday that a Metrojet airliner that crashed in Egypt's Sinai peninsula in October killing all 224 aboard was blown up by a homemade explosive device.
"We can definitely say this was a terrorist attack," Bortnikov told Russian state media, adding that 1kg of a TNT equivalent had been used to blow up the Airbus A321 travelling for Sharm el-Sheikh to St Petersburg in Russia.
Russia has offered a $50 million reward for information on who downed plane in Egypt.
