The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) spent about $500,000 (each player earned $12,000 with coach Samson Siasia pocketing double that amount) as allowances and bonuses for newly crowned U23 AFCON champions Nigeria, Today news reported.
''All what they were owed have been sorted now,” an official confirmed.
The payments were done in Dakar, Senegal, and they were paid in Naira.
On Saturday, Nigeria defeated Algeria 2-1 to become the winners of the second edition of the U23 AFCON.
The Dream Team, Algeria and South Africa will represent Africa at next year’s Rio Olympics.
