The Peoples Democratic Party is to get a substantive national chairman at the party’s national convention slated for Abuja on March 19, 2016.
The decision to hold the convention on that date was taken at a hurriedly-held meeting of the National Working Committee of the party in Abuja on Thursday.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, in a short statement in Abuja, confirmed the holding of the convention.
He said while ward congresses for the convention would hold on February 27, he announced that the local governments’ congresses would follow on March 5, 2016.
He also said that the state congress would hold on March 12, adding that this would be followed by zonal congresses on March 16 and would be climaxed with the national convention on March 19.
“All PDP organs and members are advised accordingly,” Metuh added.
