Oshodi Hoodlums stab, cut-off finger of Lagos traffic task force officer

The move to end the excesses of commercial drivers took a drastic turn this morning at Oshodi as hoodlums attacked members of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Task Force) and severely injuring one of the officials.

Mr. Uzan Rildwan, the victim of the attack, got stabbed on his head and had two of his fingers cut off by the commercial drivers and hoodlums under the Oshodi bridge.

According to a statement by Adebayo Taofiq, Public Affairs Officer, Lagos State Task Force , “the fracas was as a result of men of the Task Force arresting commercial buses obstructing traffic and causing traffic gridlocks at Oshodi under bridge this morning”.

“Commercial bus drivers and market touts under the Oshodi bridge came out and attacked both Police and Paramilitary officers with broken bottles, cutlasses, wood and other dangerous weapons in order to secure the release of the arrested 6 commercial buses”.

Mr. Rildwan was immediately treated at nearby hospital before he was transferred to General Hospital Ikeja for further diagnoses on his head.
