Muhammad Ali died at the age of 74 on Friday evening June 3 at a hospital outside Phoenix, Arizona, after a 32-year battle with advanced Parkinson’s disease and a respiratory condition.
Over the course of his career, the boxing legend had 56 wins and was awarded an Olympic gold medal as well as ''Sportsman of the Century'' by Sports Illustrated and ''Sports Personality of the Century'' by the BBC. He remains the only three-time World Heavyweight Champion. In 2005, he was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush.
Ali is survived by his wife Yolanda Williams and their nine children, including Laila Ali, who also became an undefeated boxing champ.
