President Buhari will not be going to Ogoniland, Rivers State, for the much publicized Niger Delta Clean Up after all, according to his personal assistant on new Media Bashir Ahmad who revealed this Thursday morning on Twitter.
The president will be represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in Bodo, Ogoniland for the kick-off of the exercise.
''VP Prof. Osinbajo arrived at Bodo town for the official flag off of the Ogoniland clean-up. VP is representing the President. #NDCleanUp,'' Ahmad said.
He continued, ''Today, June 2nd, the clean-up of Ogoniland has formally been flagged off by President Buhari, represented by VP Prof. Osinbajo #NDCleanUp''
The exercise is based on the recommendation of the United Nations Environmental Programme.
