Independence: PDP canvasses inclusive governance

As Nigeria celebrates its 56th independence, the national leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday called for the cooperation and contributions of all citizens to move the nation forward from what it called this present precarious situation.

The party also urged the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) to close ranks with all major stakeholders in the Country with a view to bringing to bear, the ideals, vision and mission of those who fought for the Independence.

They further pleaded with party members and supporters to remain undaunted in the face of the on-going distractions within the Party hierarchy, promising that all issues will be resolve soonest.

In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, congratulating the Government and people of Nigerian on the attainment of 56 years of nationhood, “our fathers and all those who fought and are still fighting to keep the oneness and unity of this great Country, Nigeria. May our Flag continue to hoist!”

The statement continues “On the other hand, the cooperation and contributions of all citizens are required at this time to move the Nation forward from the present precarious situation; and we wish to once again urge the APC Administration to close ranks with all major stakeholders in the Country with a view to bringing to bear, the ideals, vision and mission of those who fought for the Independence of our great Nation, Nigeria.”
