The death has been announced of Shehu Abubakar, the Emir of Gombe.
The Monarch passed away Tuesday evening, at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Fulham Road, London, United Kingdom, where he has been battling with cancer.
His death was confirmed in a release by the Secretary to Gombe State Government, Abubakar Bage, on Tuesday evening.
Close sources, however, disclosed that the late Emir would be flown back to Gombe on Wednesday after which he would be laid to rest according Islamic rights.
Until his demise, the late Emir was the chairman of the Gombe State Council of Traditional Rulers and had been on the throne since January 1984. He was equally a delegate at the ongoing National Conference.
