The hashtag #BringbackourGirls has become a huge global phenomenon after the abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria. Here are five facts about the trend.

1. When did it start? First used in Nigeria, 23 April 2014: A woman with her head bowed at a rally for he missing girls in Nigeria

 2. How many times has it been used on Twitter? Total tweets - 3.3 million:  A woman holds out a stick at a rally for the missing girls in Washington, DC

3. Where is it being used? Top countries: Nigeria 27%, US 26%, UK 11% : A sign saying "#BringBackOurGirls" on a tree in London


4. Who is using it? 56% women, 44% men: A woman holds a candle at a rally for the missing girls

5. Most shared tweet? Most retweeted, 57,000, First Lady Michelle Obama : Michelle Obama tweets a picture of herself highlighting the #BringBackOurGirls campaign
