Update:Two blasts rock Jos market over 118 killed (Viewer Discretion Is Advised) -NEMA

Photos from the scene of  twin bombing of the  Jos Terminus market that killed  over 118 people in Jos , Plateau state North central Nigeria today.

According to the area governor, the two bombs were concealed inside a truck and a minibus the military said.

“There were two separate blasts,” at the New Abuja Market, Pam Ayuba said, referring to the attack at about 3:00 pm (1400 GMT). “We are yet to know the casualty rate,” he added.

“The first IED (improvised explosive device) was in a truck. The second was in a minibus,” said Kingsley Egbo, of the military State Task Force (STF) in Plateau state, of which Jos is the capital.

“The market was really crowded,” he added. “We are having a problem of crowd control… The emergency services have evacuated the casualties,” he told AFP. Continue seeing more images but graphical....






Futhermore, according to a report by AFP, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA told them that 118 people have been confirmed dead from today's bomb blast in Jos, with several others still under the debris

"The exact figure of the dead bodies recovered as of now is 118 and more bodies may be in the debris of buildings which collapsed due to the intensity of the blasts.” Mohammed Abdulsalam told AFP. He also revealed that 56 people were injured in the twin blasts. Continue seeing more images....





Plateau state Police commissioner Chris Olakpe had earlier told reporters that only 46 people were killed and 45 others were injured. He later said "We are saying 46. That’s the number we have in the morgues. But we are not ruling out more bodies.”
