The 21-year-old "What Do You Mean" singer who was joined by host Nick Cannon at the event, which featured performances from Joe Jonas' band DNCE and Tori Kelly, asked for moment of silence to honour victims of Paris attacks.
The HALO Awards will air on Nickelodeon on November 29.
