This will be the first marriage for Ciara, who was previously engaged to rapper Future, the father of her son Future Jr. It will be the second marriage for Russell, who was previously married to his high school sweetheart Ashton Meem.
The couple has been very open about remaining celibate during their relationship and waiting until they are married to have sex. Just the other day, their celibacy vow was a topic of conversation on Khloe Kardashian‘s talk show and she later had to clarify comments she made about Ciara, who she considers a friend.
