Men shaving their masculine chest hair to form the shape of a woman's bikini top has become the latest bonkers trend to hit social media.
Although only gaining widespread coverage now, the origins of the #chesthairbikini Instagram movement are unknown, with some snaps of the bizarre strain of manscaping tracing back as far as 2012.
Some #chesthairbikini showcasers appear, unsurprisingly, to be at bachelor parties and festivals, while others pose solo or take bathroom selfies.
One #chesthairbikini snap even appears to depict a man who is unaware he is taking part in the movement
'Not a joke, this man had a hair bikini. Full chest of hair white in the middle. #hairbikini #nice #frenchriviera', the Instagram user captioned the image, which stars a white-haired man taking a nonchalant stroll on the beach.
Another photo features a tattooed man with a deadpan expression and a neat chest hair bikini. 'I feel a strange mix of arousal and concern,' commented one of the man's followers.
One #chesthairbikini star opts for a bathroom selfie, which includes a lone roll of toilet paper in the front of the frame. 'It's ok guys and girls. You lose. #awesome #chesthair #chesthairbikini #mankini #thisiswhatbeingamanlookslike', he captioned the image, with one female follower responding that it was 'hot.'
Another gentleman hasn't stopped with the bikini top; he's shaved the outline of a six-pack into his pot belly and adopted a Superman pose. 'My most recent handiwork :] #hairbikini #thirdfloorsmith @yourfavphatguy', he wrote.
The #chesthairbikini movement is the latest in a string of men-being-effeminate social media fads; the most recent being the flower beard phase, which saw dedicated hipsters pose for Instagram shots with leaves and petals woven into their facial hair.
