Breaking: Moroccan F-16 warplane goes missing in Yemen

A Moroccan F-16 jet-fighter that is taking part in the Saudi-led coalition against the Houtis in Yemen has gone missing on Sunday, the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces said in a statement.

The warplane was hit at 6 pm local time, according to Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).

It is unclear whether the pilot has ejected himself from the jet.

A pilot of the same squadron could not confirm if the pilot ejected himself from the warplane, the communique added, according to MAP. An investigation is underway, the same source added.

Morocco is among the countries participating in the military campaign against the Houthi rebels, a Shia group supported by Iran.
