It may be the official mascot of the Republican party, but even Secretary of State John Kerry couldn't resist taking a selfie with an elephant during his trip to Kenya.
The former Democrat presidential candidate smiled big with his 'new friend', as he dubbed the baby he met while visiting the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi National Park on Sunday.
The official reason: Kerry was touring the Nairobi National Park and the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage in Kenya on Sunday to learn about wildlife conservation efforts in advance of a series of government meetings Monday. The unofficial explanation: The picture is enough to elicit a “squee” from even the coldest of hearts, according to the Washington Post.
