British actor John Hurt dies after battling with cancer

Oscar-nominated British actor John Hurt died on Saturday (January 27) at his home in Norfolk after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 77.

John is best known for his roles in The Elephant Man and Midnight Express, which both landed him Oscar nominations.

He is also known for his role as Ollivander in the Harry Potter films, Alien, appearances on Doctor Who and was most recently featured in Jackie alongside Natalie Portman.
