Leicester City have confirmed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi on a five-and-a-half-year deal from Belgian club Genk.
Ndidi's £15million transfer to the Premier League champions, which has been in the pipeline for more than a month, will be complete by the end of this week, when a work permit has been officially granted.
The other formalities of the deal have been concluded, with the 20-year-old agreeing personal terms on a contract until 2022 and successfully undergoing a medical last month.
Ndidi, who has been in Dubai on a short holiday following the start of the winter break in Belgium, is expected to join up with his new team-mates this week, but may not be ready to take on Everton in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
The Nigerian international is City's first signing of the January transfer window and will bolster their options in central midfield.
Ndidi, who will wear the no.25 shirt, bears similarities to former City star N'Golo Kante in his style of play, utilising his excellent stamina to break up play around the park and kickstart counter-attacks, making more tackles and interceptions than any other player in this season's Europa League group stage.
Despite turning out in the Champions League's sister competition, Ndidi will be available to play in City's last-16 tie with Sevilla in February and March.
The 20-year-old scored twice in Genk's Europa League campaign, helping the club finish top of their group, one of the highlights of his two-year spell in Belgium.
Ndidi was signed from Lagos-based Nath Boys for £78,000 in January 2015 by former Aston Villa and Birmingham boss Alex McLeish, following a successful trial.
The youngster played at left-back and centre-back before converting to an all-action midfielder, a role he has taken to excellently.
Ndidi's form has seen him earn six caps for Nigeria - he played alongside Ahmed Musa and against Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani in a recent World Cup qualifier - while he has also been the subject of reported interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
