The late Michael Jackson, in hologram form, brought back his smooth moves and amazing vocals to the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on May 18, with a history-making performance of his song “Slave to the Rhythm.” It’s hard to believe that was just a hologram and not the real thing!
The King of Pop absolutely shut down the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. There was no question about it — he owned the stage. The performance opened up with Michael’s hologram sitting on a throne, before getting up to bring out his best moves. As a hologram, Michael danced and sang his way into history once again. And yes, his moves included that famous moonwalk.
The “Thriller” superstar died on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50 and his legacy continues to live on. However, new technology is able to create lifelike images, like Michael’s hologram, that are able to appear live on stage, according to Huffington Post.
His first new single “Love Never Felt So Good” debuted at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on May 1 and that was just one song of his latest album. Mega music producer L.A. Reid developed Michael’s new album Xscape, with never-before-released hits! The album took vocal recordings from before Michael died and “contemporized” them for today’s audiences. Xscape is sure to be another hit from the King of Pop!
