By yesterday, most of the electorates, who registered in their various wards and local government areas had to travel to their bases to cast their votes ahead of today’s polls.

Security checks

A heavy detachment of security personnel have been deployed to provide security during today’s poll.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, in the state, Mr Victor Babayemi, said “Our mandate is to provide security for the electoral process and we will do all within our power legitimately to provide that security.”

Shops under lock

Also, a drive through most of the towns showed low commercial activities.

At Ikere Local Government Area, most of the shops and offices were under lock and key.

A resident, Miss Aisha Oreoluwa, who spoke with Saturday Vanguard said “I went outside to get recharge card, but to my surprise, most of the shops were locked up. I had to pick a motorcycle, which is a long distance, to get a recharge card.”
