Carol Vorderman takes the ALS ice bucket challenge to a new level as she is soaked with 2,000 litres of water by two fire engines

Not the best choice of outfit: While the TV presenter did the normal task of having a bucket of ice water poured over her, things went up a notch when she found herself doused by two thousand litres of water afterwards

She is currently learning how to fly her private plane. So it is no surprise Carol Vorderman chose to take her ALS ice bucket challenge on the runway at Gloucester Airport on Saturday.

While she seemed ready for the task, she immediately let out a blood-curdling screams as the bucket of ice water was thrown over her. The former Countdown presenter was given little time to recover before two thousand litres of chilled water were pumped in her direction from fire engines at the airfield.
Afterwards, Carol was seen speaking to the camera as she admitted:
‘That was really cold. I’m absolutely frozen. I just think the chilled water felt warm compared the ice though. ‘That was very good, I think that was about two thousand litres altogether.’
The former Loose Women panellist then took to Twitter as she wrote:
‘Home and dry, with a lovely curry waiting ... xx ps granny pants were @superdry boy shorts and very practical today #icebucketchallenge’.

Carol has been taking flying lessons at the airport as she continues to get to grips with her private transport.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is all in aid of helping to raise awareness and money in support of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease and Motor Neurone Disease, a condition that attacks the spinal cord. The awareness-raising ice bucket craze has so far seen the likes of Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and both David and Victoria Beckham get doused in cold water. Donations to the ALS Association have been estimated at $53.3 million between July 29 and August 21 alone.
