The Ukrainian and Russian presidents have held their first direct talks on the crisis in eastern Ukraine, but there appears to be no breakthrough over the Ukraine crisis.
Ukraine's leader Petro Poroshenko said a "roadmap" would be prepared as soon as possible to end fighting between Ukrainian troops and separatists.
Vladimir Putin said Russia would assist a dialogue, but stopping the fighting was a matter for Ukraine itself.
