The Voice of America (VOA) quoted Cameroon state radio as saying that on Wednesday the soldiers ar- rived at the Cameroonian bor- der town of Amchide, where they handed their weapons to military officials.
Cameroon military spokes- man Colonel Didier Badjeck told VOA the military accept- ed the soldiers as a sign of its commitment to fight the mili- tant alongside Nigerian forces
Badjeck, who spoke in French, descibed challenging situations in war that cause troops to flee, and that Cameroon has demonstrated that it is a nation that assumes its responsibility to those in harm’s way last week 480 Nigerian soldiers crossed over to Cameroon, ostensibly in “hot pursuit of Boko Haram militants.” Two hundred forty-six of them have since returned to Nigeria. The Defence Headquarter said that development was a tactical ma- neuver but has made no com- ment on the latest movement of soldiers crossing the border.

The source said the army was were in contact with troops in the zone and “there was nothing like that in that area, apparently those alleging were referring to the earlier reported case.”
