The Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose has appealed for calm as violence continued in the state capital despite a dusk to dawn curfew imposed on Thursday.
Early this Friday, the popular Oja Oba market in the state went up in flames following a clash between traders and commercial drivers.
The governor’s exhortation follows the inferno, which left many residents of the state angry and bitter.
While the governor has ordered the immediate relocation of the traders from the market to prevent further clashes, the state police commissioner, John James has assured of adequate security to ensure that the situation does not get out of hand.
