Acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo will perform the groundbreaking of the new standard-gauge railway line between Lagos and Ibadan Tuesday march 7.
"No country will develop commercially or industrially without a functioning rail system," said Engineer Fidel Okhiria, Managing Director Nigeria Railway Corporation at the groundbreaking of the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail in Lagos. ''The new line will run from Iddo to Ibadan, with an extension to the Apapa Port Complex. Will run at 150km/hr. Standard gauge is wider,more stable. We will avoid curves and reduce gradients. We're targeting 18-month construction period".
