Cristiano Ronaldo 29-year-old won 2014 accolade at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Monday. He took to his instagram page to share the good news. Read what he said below:

''Very proud to receive the Globe Soccer Best Player of the Year award and the Fan's Favourite Player award. It's very rewarding to feel the fans amazing devotion and affection! Thank you all.''

Cristiano who is hotly tipped to follow up this success by claiming his third FIFA Ballon d'Or early next month - and second in successive years - received the award at the Atlantis luxury hotel as part of the Globe Soccer Conference, according to Daily Mail.
