Nigerians have started reacting over the missing 2016 budget President Buhari submitted personally to the joint-session of the National Assembly last year December 22.
Shortly after Senator Ali Ndume had announced to his colleagues at plenary yesterday that the document was missing, the presidency called on Nigerians to hold the NA responsible.
"Nobody, except the president, can withdraw the budget. As far as we know, he (the president) has not done that. The copies in their hundreds have been delivered to both chambers of the National Assembly. By tradition, once the budget is submitted, it ceases to be our property. Enquiries as to where it is should be directed to the appropriate quarters", said Buhari's spokesman Shehu Garba.
Below are what Nigerians are saying about the missing budget:
''This story reminds me of the day my lecturer called me to tell me my exam answer script was missing. But it.''
''Missing: Nigeria's 2016 Budget. Last Seen: Being presented by the President on National TV, Report to @NGRSenate if you have any information..''
''Please who stole our budget? Worris this nonsense? 😃: 2016 budget reportedly goes missing at National Assembly''
''Everything missing was a hit back to back, from Buhari's certificate to Yemi Osinbajo to 2016 budget... #WhoStoleOurBudget''
