The 44-year-old Bayern Munich manager, who will leave his current club when his contract expires in the summer, has said he has received several offers from English clubs.
Speaking in Doha, where Bayern are on a training camp, he said he was "sorry" if his comments were disrespectful.
'I am sorry,'' he said. ''Normally, in my career as a trainer, as a player, I respect a lot my colleagues, so I am sorry. It wasn’t my intention.''
Guardiola refused to be drawn on who his possible next employers could be, saying he would only name them after signing a contract.
He added: "I don't know. Of course I'm focused on Bayern Munich, but this doesn't change the fact that I will be training a team next season."
Guardiola, who won 13 trophies as Barcelona manager from 2008 until 2012, has been linked with Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
