Two of Prince‘s albums, The Very Best of Prince and the Purple Rain soundtrack, surged to the number one and two spot on the Billboard 200 chart following his tragic death earlier in the week.
Since his passing, the 57-year-old music legend sold 256,000 copies of his albums. Fans rushed to buy his music after hearing the tragic news, as there was only about a half-day left in the tracking week when his death was made public. Prince‘s music legacy is expected to continue making an impact in the coming weeks.
Another of Prince‘s albums, The Hits/The B-Sides, made it to number six this week after the devastating news.
