US women's national team beat Japan 5-2 on Sunday evening July 5 to win third Women's World Cup title. The U.S. women's team last won in 1999 and fell to Japan in 2011. Congrats to them!
Midfielder Carli Lloyd scored in the third, fifth and 16th minute, leaving the 1991 champions stunned. Lauren Holiday and Tobin Heath had the other goals for the United States, according to CNN.
