Athlete Rolanda Bell embarassed after falling head first into a water jump during 3000m steeplechase in Beijing

Panamanian runner Rolanda Bell fell and caused a splash during the Women's 3000 metres steeplechase heats at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing, China on Monday August 24.

The 27-year-old Panamanian runner who is currently 104th in the world misjudged the jump and landed head first in the water at the Bird's Nest stadium in Beijing on Monday

''Thank you to Panama for all the support for our team this year,'' Bell wrote on Twitter after the race to update fans following the incident.

Bell picked herself up to finish the heat following her fall, but unsurprisingly failed to qualify for the final as she finished 20 seconds behind katerina Doseykina in last place.

The final will take place on Wednesday August.
