Roger Federer holds his trophy after beating world No 1 Novak Djokovic 7-6, 6-3 in the Western and Southern Open at the Linder Family Tennis Centre in Cincinnati, Ohio on Sunday August 23.
The 34-year-old world No 2 Swiss star maintained his perfect record in Cincinnati finals by winning his seventh title heading into the big-city pressure of the US Open.
''I don't know how many years I can come back, but I'll try my best to be here many more years to come,' Federer said.
''I really hope you can win here someday,'' Federer added telling Djokovic on court during the trophy presentations. ''He deserves it. C'mon, so close.''
''The fifth time I've been in the title (match) and never won this title, so I guess I have to wait for Roger to retire,'' Djokovic said. ''I've been coming back each year wanting it more.''
