Nasir El-Rufai visits burnt Kaduna market, assures to rebuild (Photos)

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai visited the scene of the inferno at the Station Market in Kaduna local government area of the state. The market was gutted by fire last night and three almajiris who sleep in the shops reportedly burnt beyond recognition.

The governor expressed his sympathy and affirms government's commitment towards rebuilding the razed market.

"It is most unfortunate that we continue to have this incident,'' he said. ''What is sad for me, is not just the loss of property in this case, but the fact that the fire fighting equipment could not get in and reduce the losses because of the way and manner the market itself was designed. We already have plans for this market; we have plans to build a modern neighborhood center across the railway line and relocate them"

El-Rufai further assured that the leadership of the market and state officials will sit to assess the situation and bring a report to the government for further actions.
