Seriake Dickson wins Bayelsa election to serve four more years as governor

INEC has Sunday declared Governor Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party winner of the Bayelsa State governorship election.

The incumbent governor polled 134,998 votes, 48,146 votes more than his closest rival, former Governor, Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Returning Officer of the election, Zana Akpagbu said, ''Dickson Henry Seriake of PDP having satisfied the requirement of the law and secured the highest number of votes is hereby declared winner of the election.''

Dickson won seven out of the eight local governments in the South south state and claimed a second governorship term.
