In her acceptance speech, the 26-year-old singer said, ''Hi guys! You know, um, this album 1989, and the last two years of my life have been the most fun I’ve ever had and the decision to make a pop album was not made in a conference room at a record label, those decisions were made in my kitchen with my girlfriends and the women in my life. And so I want to thank my friends, you guys were always there when I had questions. Do you like the song? Is this the right direction to go in? They were the ones who reinforced me and said you’re doing the right thing, always follow that. I want to thank iHeart and the fans. The young women that I would look out and see in the crowd every night. Thank you so much, this is awesome!''
