Mimiko emerges Chairman of PDP's Governor Forum, vows to relate with Buhari and APC

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has been elected the chairman the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors’ forum. He was elected at a meeting of the PDP governors in Maitama, Abuja, on Wednesday. The Ondo governor was deputy to the former chairman of the forum, Godswill Akpabio, the immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom State. The PDP presently has 13 governors.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after his emergence, Mimiko vowed to engage President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC in a very constructive manner.
''We will do everything that we can do to engage the presidency and APC in a very constructive manner. We have also agreed to create formal and informal mechanisms of pair review, all for the development of our nation,'' he said.
