Wardrobe Allowance: Obasanjo tells lawmakers to be considerate

As controversy rages over the allocation of N9 Billion for lawmakers as wardrobe allowance, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has appealed to them to be considerate because of the high poverty rates in the country where citizens are living on less than $1/day.
''Nigerian Lawmakers should be considerate and sensitive to the constituents that elected them before demanding for greedy and cruel allowances. It's nonsensical that lawmakers from states that are owing 11 months workers salary are also sharing from the alleged N9bn wardrobe allowance. It's absurd that in a country where citizens are living on less than $1/day, it's lawmakers will be making N21.05m on wardrobe allowance,'' he said.
